Examination (CEE) held by Delhi University in May this year for admissions to the Delhi College of Engineering and Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) here. On August 23, the Delhi High Court had directed the investigating agency to conclude the investigation within four weeks and then submit a report to it. To protect the right of admission of the accused students, the Bench directed the two institutions and the Registrar of Delhi University to keep 33 seats in reserve to take in these students if cleared by the CBI or the Registrar.

A Single-Judge Bench of the High Court had last month barred 33 of the successful CEE candidates from admissions to the two institutions following submission of a probe report by the CBI. However, the Division Bench later allowed many of these students to appear for counselling when they filed appeals against the Single-Judge Bench directions.
