Insurance policy for engineering students

It also covers tuition, hostel fee of the student

HYDERABAD: United India Insurance Company is offering engineering students and their parents personal accident insurance cover of Rs. 3 lakhs for the student and Rs. 2 lakhs for the parent. The cover will also take care of the tuition and hostel fee of the student, reimbursing the amount spent in the event of the parent's death.

Premium

Reimbursement up to Rs. 25,000 per annum covering the rest of the course is also provided. The policy requires students to pay a premium of Rs. 680 for four years, working out to Rs. 170 per year. The aim is to ensure the uninterrupted education of the student in the event of the accidental death of the parent, said Assistant General Manager of United India Insurance Co. Ltd, Veeraraghavaiah.

United India's corporate agents, Andhra Pradesh State Trading Corporation will inform students of the scheme at these six counselling centres in the second phase starting from August 31 to September 22.
