SW monsoon turns vigorous

HYDERABAD: The South-West monsoon turned vigorous over Rayalaseema on Wednesday. There was isolated rain in Coastal Andhra and Telangana.

Anantapur and Arogyavaram recorded a heavy rainfall of 9 cm and 8 cm respectively. The other chief amounts of rainfall received were: Dharmavaram 5 cm, Tirupati Airport, Pargi 4 cm each, Kurnool, Gooty 3 cm each, Pamidi 2 cm and Hakimpet Airport and Proddatur 1 cm each.

According to a forecast issued by the State Met Office, light to moderate rain is likely on Thursday at a few places in Rayalaseema and in Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna districts.

Isolated falls are likely in Telangana and the rest of Coastal Andhra.
