Letters to the Editor
The just concluded monsoon session of Parliament takes me back to the late 1950s and 1960s. My mind recalls the way elected members maintained the dignity and decorum of the House. As one who retired long ago, I still like to watch the proceedings of both Houses of Parliament on television. But the manner in which the Opposition behaved during the session, disrupting proceedings and staging walkouts, made me switch off the television with much disdain and disappointment. It is time our MPs were reminded of their constitutional obligations of actively taking part in all the proceedings, and representing the people of their constituency in all their aspirations.
