Letters to the Editor
This refers to the report, "Some questions about homeopathy" (Aug. 27). It appears that those behind the research published in the journal Lancet feel threatened by the success of homeopathy. The drug lobby in particular seems desperate because homeopathy offers a cure for even chronic diseases at much cheaper prices. Homeopathy has come under attack ever since Samuel Hahnemann discovered it 200 years ago. The orthodox medical establishment of his time did everything to stop him. One wonders why conventional medicine (nearly 3000 years old) should fear the 200-year-old infant!
Dr. Jayakumar M. Pannakkal,
Dr. Elizabeth Ragi,
Starting from Hahnemann, most of the homeopath stalwarts have been converts from the allopathic stream. If homeopathy is as ineffective as claimed, would it have been around for so long?
Lt. (Dr.) Madhu Teotia,
