NEW DELHI: The Government has decided to re-nominate litterateur U.R. Ananthamurthy as Chairman of the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) Society, which has been reconstituted for three years. The announcement made on Thursday will have retrospective effect from March 4. According to a release issued by Information & Broadcasting Ministry, wildlife film-maker Mike Pandey, film producer Bobby Bedi, film director Jabbar Patel, actor Nafisa Ali and film critic Aruna Vasudev will be members of the society in the category of `persons of eminence' connected with films and television, education, journalism, literature, fine arts, drama and performing arts. Film-maker Ketan Mehta, actors Tom Alter, Danny Denzongpa and Shabana Azmi come in the category of `Alumni of FTII'. The FTII will have the following ex-officio members: the Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser to the Ministry, Joint Secretary (Films), Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati, chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification, Director of the National Film Development Corporation, Chief Producer of Films Division, Director of the National School of Drama, Director of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Director of the National Film Archives of India and FTII Director.
