SRINAGAR: The moderate faction of the All-Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday formally accepted the invitation extended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for talks with the Government. Mr. Farooq will lead the APHC delegation, spokmesman Abdul Majid Banday said after a three-hour meeting of the executive and general council here. He read out a statement: "An extraordinary meeting of the APHC, while taking stock of the situation in the subcontinent, unanimously decided to accept the invitation for talks " to find an acceptable and durable solution to the Kashmir issue. Mr. Farooq told reporters, "We have to accept the fact that J&K is a complex issue and we feel that there has to be a genuine desire and urge on all sides to talk and deliberate because if you are talking about settlement, the only way to resolve the issue is through a genuine dialogue." He hoped that there would be sincerity on the part of New Delhi.
