KARAIKUDI: Raja's five for 39 and Muruganantham's unbeaten 85 helped Jolly Rovers Cricket Club carve out a five-wicket victory over Brindhavanam Cricket Club `A' in the Indian Bank-Sivagangai District Cricket Association `B' division league here over the week end. The scores: `A' division: Rohini CC 156 in 37 overs (Vasudevan four for 35) lost to Sachin Brothers CC 157 for five in 27 overs. KTCC 157 in 36.3 overs (Sakthi 46) tied with OSCAR CC 157 in 44.5 overs. `B' division: Brindhavanam C.C `A' 182 in 35 overs (Shankar 46, Venkatesh 44, Raja five for 39) lost to Jolly Rovers C.C 183 for five in 27 overs (Muruganantham 85 not out). Young Blood CC 159 in 27 overs (Arunkumar 57, Balasubramanian four for 15) lost to Gangai Brothers CC 162 for four in 20 overs (Boominathan 43 not out). `C' division: Newland CC 134 in 25.5 overs (M. Rajesh 40, V. Senthil 50 not out) bt Moon Light CC 120 in 21.3 overs (Rajasekar four for 33). Pandian 46, Saravanan four for 36) bt Sea Birds CC 144 in 26 overs.
Three records set
Three new meet records one in men's section and two in women's section were set on the opening day of the three-day Anna University Zone IX athletics meet in Dindigul on Thursday.

Double for Raja Duraisingam
Raja Duraisingam Government Arts College, Sivagangai won both the men's and women's titles in the Alagappa University inter-collegiate hockey tournament in Karaikudi on Wednesday.
The results (league): Alagappa Govt. Arts 2 (Venkatesh) bt Raja Duraisingam 1 (Kannan); Raja Durai Singam 1 (R. Senthil) bt AUCPE 0; AUCPE 1 (Rajakamal) bt Alagappa Govt. Arts 0.
AUCPE wins title
Alagappa University College of Physical Education, Karaikudi, beat the host Thasim Beevi Abdul Kadar College for women 17-5 for the title in the Alagappa University women's Kho-Kho tournament at Kilakari near Ramanathapuram recently.
American College, Britto share trophy
Defending champion American College HSS and St. Britto's HSS were declared joint winners in the fifth Kalimark Trophy State-level inter-school basketball tournament as the last summit-clash tie for the title between the teams was abandoned due to heavy rain in Madurai on Wednesday.
However the match between host Idayam Rajendran Residential School and A.V.H.S.S. Paramakudi went through before the rain, in which the host beat A.V. H.S.S. 49-37 for its only win in the league to finish third.
