ALGIERS:
Brazil and Russia moved into the final of the ninth World Youth (under-19) volleyball championship with victories over Italy and Argentina respectively here on Wednesday.
Brazil rebounded from defence and blocking problems to claim a 12-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 victory over the solid Italian side.
Russia defeated Argentina, the dark horse of the competition, 25-21, 25-20, 27-25.
France scored a 15-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-22 win over Slovakia to earn a shot at the fifth and sixth positions, leaving Slovakia to play for the seventh and eighth spots.
In the other match, Iran recorded a 25-21, 25-17, 25-19 win over Poland.
