SEOGWIPO (SOUTH KOREA): China won two gold medals on Thursday in the Asian table tennis championship but was denied a clean sweep of the three titles on offer on the first finals day. Hong Kong duo Ko Lai-Chak and Li Ching came back from 3-2 down to win the men's doubles gold from Chinese favourites and top seeds Wang Liqin and Chen Qi 11-7, 7-11, 9-11, 12-10, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8. Ko and Li, silver medallists in last year's Olympics in Athens, overcame a major threat earlier in the day. They dispatched South Korea's top pairing, Ryu Seung-Min, the singles gold medallist in Athens, and Choi Hyun-Jin 11-7, 12-10, 13-15, 11-7, 11-6.
