Back to square one

Police proposes, Government disposes. Well this was what happened to the well-meaning experiment of traffic police when they tried regulating traffic on NFCL to Madhapur arch.

While police higher-ups went ahead with experimental traffic diversions on the stretch for about a week, there was an outcry against the rule by those who were forced to take a detour.

But then for those who welcomed the move as it reduced the traffic load on the congested Punjagutta-Begumpet stretch, the reprieve turned out to be short-lived one.

Before `No Entry' norm could be studied in all aspects and a solution could be worked out for easing pressure on all connecting roads, the Government played to galleries and over ruled the police plan.

The congested Punjagutta-Greenlands-Begumpet road is back to square one.
