JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday to work together for employment generation in the State. FICCI would try to dovetail various programmes of the State Government to development a common model for public-private participation. The MoU was signed on the occasion of the two-day national conference on tourism, organised jointly by FICCI and Rajasthan Tourism, to focus on new opportunities for investments in tourism and marketing. The agreement is initially for two years but can be extended on mutual consent. The implementation of the MoU would be monitored by a Task Force to be headed by the Industries Minister. The Principal Secretary, Industries would head an executive committee which would implement the programmes agreed upon by both the signatories. As per the MoU, FICCI would provide suggestions to the State Government on tourism, rural development, dry farming and water management. FICCI also would work for the social and economic uplift of the villages identified by the Task Force. The Federation also would make available the management and entrepreneurial know how with it for the enhancement of investment in Rajasthan.
