BEIJING: World No. 1 Xie Xingfang missed a replay of the world championships final against Zhang Ning, after losing to her compatriot Zhou Mi 11-9, 11-7 in the semifinals at the badminton China Masters here on Saturday. Top-seeded Zhang crushed unseeded Chinese Liu Jian 11-9, 11-4 earlier in the afternoon. Coming back from the world championships first-round exit and against a surprisingly subdued opponent, Olympic bronze medallist Zhou survived a close first game before racing to a 10-3 lead in the second. In men's singles, Xie's boyfriend Lin Dan set up an all-Chinese final with Bao Chunlai by routing compatriot Zhu Weilun 15-5, 15-5. Xinhua
