BANGALORE: A four-member gang stabbed a software engineer and robbed him of a mobile phone and cash in Koramangala police station limits on Friday night. The police said that around 10.30 p.m. Prathamesh Joshi, a software engineer and a native of Goa, and his friend were walking home after dinner at a hotel. While they were walking on 17th F Main, 6th Block, Koramangala, four men waylaid them. They stabbed Joshi with a knife and robbed him of the mobile phone and cash.
Girl kidnapped
Three youths allegedly kidnapped a 17-year-old girl from Kamakshipalya police station limits on Friday evening. According to a complaint lodged by the girl's father with the police, around 6.30 p.m. his two daughters were returning home from typewriting class. Three youths accosted them near Kamakshipalya water tank and whisked away his younger daughter in an autorickshaw.
Laptop stolen
A thief made away with a laptop from the car of Shoba, wife of Kannada writer and filmmaker Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, in Jayanagar police station limits on Friday evening. After Shoba went to a restaurant in 4th Block, Jayanagar, her driver parked the car at a near by parking lot. A man accosted the driver and told him that a tyre of the car had gone flat. When the driver got down from the vehicle and was checking the tyres, the man made away with the laptop that was in the car, the police said.
Recovered
The Crime Intelligence Squad of the Ulsoor Gate subdivision arrested four persons on charges of theft and recovered from them 29 mobile phones, together worth Rs. 1.2 lakhs. The names of the arrested have been given as Ravi (24) and Mahadeva (18), both residents of Old Byappanahalli, Raja (24) of Ullala and Madhu (35) of Sarjapur.
