This Day That Age
The Congress Working Committee on September 4 declared that individual satyagraha by Indian nationals for the liberation of Goa should be avoided. It also reiterated its opposition to mass entry into Goa. The committee appealed to the people to view the Goa problem in its national and international context and "not on any party basis and to support the Government of India's policy in this matter." It declared in a resolution: "Any differing and conflicting policies will weaken the national resolve and also the efforts to secure the liberation of Goa." The resolution expressed the hope that all the participants in the Bandung conference would support the cause of the liberation of Goa.
