Government should come out with bank-wise list: former Minister

  • Government working against interests of working class
  • Indirect election in municipalities will lead to horse-trading
  • Anti-incumbency factor will work in civic polls: Mayor

RAJAHMUNDRY: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders dubbed the State Government's claim about loans to Dwacra women groups at 25 paise interest a farce. They wanted the Government to come out with bank-wise list, in which the banks have given loan to women at 25 paise interest.

Addressing Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Minority Cell meeting here on Sunday, former Minister and senior TDP leader Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary said the State Government was making false claims on many issues including loans. He alleged that the Government was working against the interests of working class in RTC and NGOs. He said the Congress Government had gone for indirect election in municipalities, as it wanted to capture the same through horse-trading in the chairperson's election.

Mayor M.S. Chakravarthy and the Zilla Parishad Chairman D Janardhana Rao also spoke.
