Property dealer murdered

NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old property dealer was murdered by his neighbours at Model Town in North-West Delhi on Saturday. Both the accused have been arrested.

According to the police, Ashok and Rajkumar, killed Ajay as he had fought with a labourer working in their under-construction building. Ajay's sister-in-law, Vimla, who tried to intervene, sustained injuries and has been admitted to Sushrut Trauma Centre. She is stated to be out of danger.

Acting on her statement, the police registered a murder case and arrested Ashok and Rajkumar.

Two held on charges

of burglary

NEW DELHI: A man and his two accomplices have been arrested on charges of committing burglary in his employer's office at Kirti Nagar in West Delhi. The police have recovered Rs. 2 lakhs in cash from their possession.

On August 29, the police received a complaint from Avtar Singh, a resident of Ramesh Nagar in Kirti Nagar, alleging that his steel-electronic chest containing Rs. 7.5 lakhs had been stolen from his office.

The police questioned Avtar's employee, Sandeep, who allegedly confessed to his involvement. At his instance, Gyan Chand Chauhan, Deepak, Rajender and one Mota burgled Avtar's office and stole the chest. Sandeep disclosed that Deepak and one of his accomplices were planning to flee to Nepal.

Subsequently, a police team was rushed to the Indo-Nepal border and arrested Deepak and Surjan at Belaghat village in Nainital. A hunt has been launched for other accused.

Bootlegger arrested

NEW DELHI: An alleged bootlegger was arrested at Rohini in North-West Delhi on Saturday. The police recovered 38 cartons of illicit countrymade liquor from his Tata 407.

A police team was on patrol duty near Jaipur Golden Hospital when it noticed a stationary Tata 407. The police checked the vehicle and on recovery of the illicit liquor consignment arrested its driver, identified as Satish Kumar. During interrogation, he allegedly disclosed that he had brought the consignment from Bahadurgarh in Haryana.

Drug trafficker held

NEW DELHI: An alleged drug trafficker from Uttar Pradesh was arrested at Indraprastha Park by the Narcotics Branch of the Delhi Police on Saturday. The police recovered 500 gm of heroin from his possession.

The accused, Sanjay, disclosed that he was earlier into junk dealing business in Ghaziabad. About a year ago, he suffered huge losses. To recover from the financial crisis, he joined his father who was already into drug peddling.
