CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Rayalaseema and active over Kerala.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Rayalaseema, Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka and at few places over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over north interior Karnataka.

The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in Centimetres:

Gingee (Villupuram dt) 10, Tirupattur 8 and Kaleshwaram (Karimnagar dt) 7. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Agathi Airport and Tadpatri (Ananthapur dt) 6 each, Kallakurichi (Villupuram dt), Tiruvannamalai, Yercaud, Gudalur Bazzar (Nilgiris dt), Kozha (Kottayam dt) and Thodupuzha (Idukki dt) 5 each, Tirukoilur (Villupuram dt), Bhavani (Erode dt), Aminidivi, Kunnamkulam (Thrissur dt), Shirali, Karwar, Aurad (Bidar dt), Perur (Khammam dt) 4 each, Vanthavasi (Tiruvannamalai dt), Sendamangalam (Namakkal dt), Tindivanam (Villupuram dt), Kumbakonam (Thanjavur dt), Arani and Polur (both Tiruvannamalai dt), Kochi Airport, Tiruvananthapuram Airport, Tiruvananthapuram, Kondugallur (Thrissur dt), Cherthala (Alapuzha dt), Panambur and Karkala (Udupi dt) 3 each, Pattukottai (Thanjavur dt), Ramanathapuram, Harur (Dharmapuri dt), Sankarapuram (Villupuram dt), Tiruvidaimarudur (Thanjavur dt), Arimalam (Pudukottai dt), Tondi, Chengam (Tiruvannamalai dt), Vaniyambadi (Vellore dt), Gobichettipalayam (Erode dt), Vembavur (Perambalur dt), Marungapuri (Tiruchirapalli dt), 2 each.
