Communication revolution has changed the way young people even choose houses on rent. Two youths, one an innocuous photographer from a nondescript village in Kannur district and the other recently transferred from the garden-turned-silicon city of Bangalore, decided to take on rent a house on the outskirts of Kozhikode city. They settled for a house hardly half-a-kilometre away from East Hill Junction. The house, though not so capacious, was enough for both of them. They paid the advance to the owner. Two days later, when they arrived there bag and baggage, they found their neighbours were curiously studying them. Did they think the youths had agreed for an unreasonable rent? Just then they found their mobile phones were not getting the signals. They realised the house was out of "coverage area" of their service providers. They quickly left and found another house. One that was within the coverage area of their service providers.
