Camp brings to focus good opportunities

HYDERABAD: Career prospects are bright for trained professionals in fine arts. Whether it is painting, drawing, sculpture making, clay moulding, metal casting or ceramic designing there are exciting opportunities and attractive remuneration, said eminent painter, Lavanya Dutt.

She was addressing a one-day counselling camp on "Career and educational opportunities in fine arts" here on Sunday. The programme, which was organised by the Iqra Society for Career Guidance, evoked good response from students.

Flair is a must

Trained artists, Ms. Dutt said, had the option of either working as freelancers or selling their works directly to art lovers, art houses and corporates.

She told the students that courses in painting, sculpture making and applied arts were offered by the JNTU, Hyderabad Central University, Jamia Milia Islamia and other universities besides Government and private colleges at diploma, graduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. Only those who had a natural flair and inherent talent should opt for career in fine arts, Ms. Dutt said.

Iqra president, Amanullah Khan, participated.
