Relief supplies for New Orleans

NEW DELHI: : India will send medical and relief supplies to New Orleans, devastated by hurricane Katrina.

An Air Force aircraft will take off on Wednesday morning with 25 tonnes of relief material and reach New Orleans on Friday.

The Defence Ministry's Integrated Defence Staff is the co-coordinating agency for the mission.

The supplies comprise 50,000 first-aid kits, blankets, 25,000 cots and pillows and five lakh packed rations.
