IT'S SEPTEMBER and it is time for Festember the famous inter-collegiate cultural fiesta of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Tiruchi. The four-day gala event, which attracts students from various parts of the country, opens on Thursday. This year, with organisers throwing open the event for arts and science colleges too, the festival promises to the biggest draw ever as nearly 250 colleges and 4,500 participants are expected to turn up. The mega show would feature arts, music, literary events (English, Hindi and Tamil), choreography, tarangini, metal throat, powercut, `theatrix,' `cluedo,' `shrutilaya' etc. Eminent artistes from the entertainment industry including Anuradha Shriram would perform as invited guests. A rock concert by Pentagram is also on the cards. A new and exciting feature of the show would be a race-cum-treasure-hunt, spread over two days and three cities and huge prize money. At the NIT campus, the countdown has begun for the biggest annual show.
