BIJAPUR: The Syndicate Bank sponsored Bijapur Grameen Bank celebrated Teachers' Day in a unique way at Chikroogi in Sindagi taluk on Monday. Apart from felicitating over 70 teachers working in rural schools, the bank organised a blood donation camp, in which 25 of its employees donated blood. General Manager of the bank K.L.N. Joshi inaugurated the programme. The president of the bank N. Jagatpalinaugurated an exhibition of modern teaching equipments used in B.Ed. classes at the Jagadamba Vidyavardhak Sangha College of Education, which was the venue of the function. Regretting the declining standard in teaching, the principal of the college C.G. Rathod said it is time for teachers to have introspection.
