BANGALORE: Indian Telephone Industries beat Postal 4-0 in an incident filled match at the hockey stadium here on Tuesday. Cariappa scored twice (13th and 48th ) both of penalty corners and Suresh also had a brace (33rd and 56th). The match took an ugly turn when umpire Pavan awarded a penalty corner to Postal while its players demanded a penalty stroke. Postal's player Kumanan became aggressive and resorted to pushing and jostling along with others from his team. Pavan then flashed a red card to Kumanan and he refused to leave the playing arena and even lashed out with his hockey stick. The officials from the technical table had to enter the field and restore some sanity and finally the match was completed. Earlier Coorg Hockey Association defeated Army Service Corps `B' 2-1 . Asif Ali scored first for ASC `B' in the 34th minute and Jeevan (51st) and Poonacha (55th, pc) scored for CHA. The second qualifier from this pool will be decided after Wednesday's match. CHA needs to beat Flying Hockey Club to qualify else SAI will make it as the second team. In another match, SAI `B' beat Rainbow 7-0. Samuel Niranjan (10th and 19th), Nanaiah (12th), Vivek Ramakrishna (14th), Kalappa (40th) and Vineet Michael (46th and 47th) scored the goals for SAI `B'.
