HYDERABAD: The AICC preferred to snub the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders here on Tuesday by supporting the imposition of the ban on naxalites and also leaving the decision of parting ways "to the wisdom of the TRS". The party general secretary and in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Congress affairs, Digvijay Singh, said on both counts the Congress was not wrong. Though it was an unpleasant task, the Government was forced to impose the ban in the interest of the law and order situation, he said, while addressing a general body meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). In an indirect reference to the demand of the TRS leadership to lift the ban, Mr. Singh said the Government could do so only if naxalites shunned violence. Mr. Singh, however, clarified that the Congress was not through with the Telangana issue.
