BIDAR: Former MLA and Janata Dal (S) leader Gundappa Vakil has demanded the resignation of Minister for Forests and district in-charge Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli and Minister for Animal Husbandry and Waqf Mirajuddin Patel for their alleged indifference to the Ekamba land dispute. The two leaders have not bothered to visit Ekamba and have not even shown an interest to resolve the issue, Mr. Vakil alleged. The two leaders have left the responsibility of administration to the officials, so that they can spend their term in Bangalore, he charged. They take the credit for all development schemes and pass the blame to the officials, he alleged. Mr. Vakil said Mr. Nagamarapalli and Mr. Patel have lost the support of the people. The only honourable way left for them is to resign and seek re-election, he added. The two Ministers did not visit Ekamba when tension prevailed for nearly a month. Mr. Nagamarapalli has come now, after the villagers and officials have been able to establish peace, he charged. Mr. Nagamarapalli visited Ekamba on Tuesday and offered puja to the Ganesha picture hung on a pole. He said the Government will ensure land is granted to both Ekamba Ganesh Mandal and Masjid.
