Congress leader lashes out at Narendra

Staff Reporter

Dismisses charges against YSR out of hand

KARIMNAGAR: Condemning the statements made by TRS leader and Union Minister A. Narendra against the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on the Telangana issue, the Government Whip, D. Sridhar has termed the charges false and baseless.

Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, Mr. Sridhar flayed Mr. Narendra for targeting the Chief Minister in "undemocratic manner." Mr. Narendra had come from RSS background and he was helping BJP with his statements, he charged.

He alleged that Mr. Narendra was only helping the TDP and the BJP with his statements and not the cause of Telangana. "The Congress will not remain silent. We are also from Telangana and we too want Statehood for the region in a democratic and diplomatic manner. The TRS alone does not represent Telangana," he said. Asked about fighting the municipal elections without TRS support, he said that the Congress would emerge victorious in all municipalities and corporations.
