ANANTAPUR: A youth, Nagendra (17) of Peddareddipalli village in Parigi mandal of the district, was allegedly washed away in the Penna river near the village on Tuesday. According to information, the youth along with his friends went to watch the river in spate and they were tempted to experience swimming in the flood. However, Nagendra started drowning in the waist deep water due to the pressure of the current and he was also not versed with swimming. The youth's body was found downstream.
