Mumbai: Infrastructure shortcoming at the Usharaje Stadium in Indore has forced the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) to forego a one-day international against South Africa in November. By the rotation policy of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it was MPCA's turn to play host to one of the five one-day internationals against South Africa. But according to the MPCA Secretary Sanjay Jagdale, the stadium work at Indore is still a long way from nearing completion and hence the MPCA Committee opted to give the prestigious one-day international a miss and did a favour to the Hyderabad Cricket Association. The Tour Programmes and Fixtures committee of the BCCI which met here on Tuesday awarded the other four matches to Tamil Nadu CA (Chennai), Karnataka State CA (Bangalore), Cricket Association of Bengal (Kolkata) and Mumbai. The five-match series against South Africa will be preceded by a seven-match series against Sri Lanka at Mohali (Punjab), Nagpur, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Jaipur/Jodhpur, Rajkot and Pune. The Sri Lankans will make a second trip to India for the three-Test series in December. According to the BCCI secretary S.K. Nair, the full itinerary will be announced after considering the logistics aspect of the tour and consulting the cricket boards of Sri Lanka and South Africa. The one-day international against Sri Lanka will be played on October 25, 28, 31, November 3, 6, 9 and 12 and against South Africa on November 16, 19, 22, 25 and 28.
