Kemai nets winner

NEW DELHI: Right winger Gaimunlung Kemai struck in the 42nd minute in Garhwal Heroes' stunning 1-0 victory over the defending champion, Indian Air Force, Palam, in the league match of the DSA senior division football championship at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Tuesday.

In another match, former champion Shastri Club defeated Mughals Sports Club 3-1 after the two teams tied goalless at halftime. Shastri Club's Nigerian recruit Ifayin put his side 1-0 up in the 45th minute before Khurram increased the lead five minutes later. Ifayin again slotted home in the 60th minute and only towards the end that the Mughals found a consolation goal. Chinmoy was the scorer in the 84th minute.

At the Nehru Stadium, Indian Nationals beat Collegians Club 3-0 and Shimla Youngs edged past Tarun Sangha Club 2-1.
