ANANTAPUR: The Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate's Court here on Tuesday split the Paritala Ravindra murder case into two, paving the way for commencement of trial in one part of the case soon. The court split the case between the 12 arrested accused, including the main accused, G. Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri, and the fugitive, Julakanti Srinivasa Reddy alias Moddu Seenu, the second accused in the case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the case has already explained its inability to the court in apprehending Moddu Seenu.
Judge warning works
Possibly due to the repeated admonishment of the sub-jail authorities by the Judge, A. Jayaraj, all the arrested were produced in the court on Tuesday. Either one or two of the accused were being kept absent by the jail officials on health grounds during the last three months. Other than Suri, the 11 others produced in the court on Tuesday were V. Hanumantha Reddy, T. Konda Reddy, P. Narayana Reddy, V. Rekhamaiah, V. Kondanna, V. Sreenivasulu, B. Ranganayakulu, P. Rammohan Reddy, M. Obi Reddy, T. Peddi Reddy and G.Venkateswar Reddy. The court was also given the copies of charge sheet filed by the CBI to each of the 12 accused present in the court. The court extended the judicial custody of the accused till September 16. Meanwhile, the CBI submitted to the court that the investigation into the allegations of involvement of Y.S. Jaganamohan Reddy, J.C. Diwakar Reddy and G. Bhanumati in the murder case was still in progress.
Additional charge sheet
The probe agency explained that it would keep the court informed about the progress of investigation from time to time. Further, the CBI also informed the court that it had secured some clues about the possible involvement of P. Goverdhan Reddy and his accomplice B. Ramaswamy, of the self-styled Revolutionary Patriotic Tigers (RPT), and U. Anandkumar Reddy alias Rice Mama in the case. The CBI submitted to the court that an additional charge sheet would be filed against the three. Anandkumar Reddy, who had allegedly acted as a logistic provider to the Paritala killers, was in fact arrested by the CBI, interrogated and let off after binding over. He is likely to be taken into custody again. The court is also likely to transfer the case pertaining to the 12 accused to the Sessions Court during the next hearing on September 16.
