Hizb commander among four killed in Kashmir
SRINAGAR:
Two militants, including a self-styled commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, were among four persons killed in Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
The Hizbul commander, identified as Mohammad Rafiq, said to have been active for the last eight years, was killed in an encounter with security forces during search operations at Dugga-Bhaderwah area of Doda district in the small hours of Tuesday, the spokesman said.
He said an AK rifle, three magazines and 11 rounds were recovered from the slain militant.
Acting on a tip-off, security forces cordoned off the Pathri Behak area of Bandipora in Baramulla district, leading to a gunfight with hiding extremists, the spokesman said. PTI
