Award for BHEL
BHEL's Ranipet plant has won the recognition in the big manufacturing category as part of the International Asia Pacific Quality Award (IAPQA - 2005), wherein more than 50 countries participated.
Awards presented
Speaking on the occasion, the chief coordinator of the Dr. Radhakrishnan Value Education Award Committee, Prof. S.S. Shashi, said the award committee had taken the lead to propagate value education in the country and abroad. While the director of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Veeraraghavan, asked intellectuals to join hands in the mission to propagate value education, the director of National Bal Bhavan, Madhu Pant, presented certificates to the awardees.
Held with illicit liquor
Acting on a tip-off, the police had laid a trap near Senior Secondary School in Hari Nagar on Monday night. After midnight, the suspected truck appeared on the scene. When the police flagged it down, the driver stopped the vehicle and fled.
