WISE COUNSEL: Regidi Appadu, Andhra Bank's Assistant General Manager, addressing a press conference in Nalgonda on Monday.

NALGONDA: Andhra Bank assistant general manager Regidi Appadu has advised parents and managements of educational institutions to join students in the newly-introduced "AB Student Care'' scheme.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, he said the unique scheme provides life and health insurance cover to students and their parents.

The scheme provides uninterrupted studies to the student in the event of unfortunate death of the parent, he said. Students studying in degree and professional colleges are eligible to join the scheme through their college managements under group insurance. "The annual premium varies from the duration of the courses and I can assure you that it is very reasonable,'' he maintained.

Roadshow

To promote the bank's schemes such as Jeevan Abhaya, Freedom Savings, Insured Current A/C, Abhaya Gold, Abhaya Savings, Kids Khazana, LIC Policies and Arogyadaan, he participated in the roadshow organised by the local branch at Clock tower. Branch senior manager K. Rajendra Kumar and the staff took part in the programme.

The AGM said the bank had signed an MoU with the LIC to mobilise policies worth Rs. 100 crores this year.

Any village which could take a minimum 100 policies would be given Rs. 25,000 as incentive for community development, Mr. Appadu said.
