Discharge from Mettur reservoir increased

CHENNAI:
Discharge from the Mettur reservoir, which is overflowing, was increased on Tuesday. The outflow, which was of the order of 28,000 cusecs on Monday, was increased to 33,929 cusecs on Tuesday morning. However, there was a slight fall in the inflow which was about 48,000 cusecs on Monday night. It came down to 39,000 cusecs on Tuesday morning and further decreased to 26,000 cusecs later in the evening.
The present storage at the reservoir is 94.446 thousand million cubic feet (tmc ft) as against the capacity of 93.4 tmc ft. and the level 120.610 compared to the full level of 120 feet.
