MANGALORE: The Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samiti, Kulur, which is celebrating its silver jubilee year will observe Ganesha Chaturthi for two-days at Kulur near here from Wednesday. B.K. Sandeep, working president of the Samiti told presspersons here on Saturday that a special religious function has been organised on Wednesday to mark the silver jubilee. K. Ashraf, Mayor will preside over the function. Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala D. Veerendra Heggade will preside over the special religious function to be organised on Thursday, he said. Dr. Heggade will release Phalguni, a commemorative souvenir on the occasion. Members of Baduku Okkoota Self Help Groups will present a cultural dance programme on Wednesday. This will be followed by a yakshagana by members of Sri Maanila Mahalakshmi Mahila Yakshagana mandala. Folk artistes from Kannur in Kerala will be the highlight of the immersion procession to be taken out on Wednesday night after the ranga pooja, he said. The idol will be immersed in the Phalguni, he added.
