Jayalalithaa to throw open `Connect 2005'

To focus on strategies to accelerate IT industry

CHENNAI:
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa will release the State's Information Technology-Enabled Services (ITES) policy and hand over land documents of the Knowledge Industry Township (KIT), promoted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), at `Connect 2005' here on Thursday.
The CII, Southern Region, said in a release that "strategies to accelerate growth of Indian IT industry" would be the theme of the two-day meet. The plenary sessions of the meet would focus on subjects such as "growth pattern of global IT market by 2010 vis-à-vis India's position, strategy for growth and moving-up the value chain and opportunities and challenges in data security."It would also feature an exclusive half-day sessions on two verticals telecom, and banking financial services and insurance. A special concurrent session would be held on "trends and opportunities for IT and ITES IT-enabled services (ITES) in telecom sector."
According to R. Ramaraj, chairman, `Connect 2005,' the meet "has attracted unprecedented response" both from international and domestic IT and ITES industry. Over 400 delegates from Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Honking Hong Kong would participate. in the meet, he said.
