Young World quiz final to be held at Kochi

Ninth regional round completed


CHENNAI: : The biggest national-level quiz for high school students completed its ninth regional round on Tuesday.

Kartik Balaji and S. Sudarsan of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (KK Nagar) will represent the Chennai region at the national-level finals of The Hindu Young World Quiz 2005 to be held at Kochi in October.

Squash champion Joshna Chinnappa, the chief guest, handed over the cash prize and trophies at Kamaraj Arangam.

Other teams from the State are S. Srinath and R. Parthiban of Sri Vidhya Bharathi Matriculation School, Karur, (Tiruchi region) and M.A. Uttara and R. Aditya of the TVS Lakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School (Madurai region).

The sixth edition of the quiz got under way at Visakhapatnam last month and moved on to Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Mangalore, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Tiruchi, Madurai and Chennai. The regional finals will be held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.
