BANGALORE: The Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell will conduct the casual vacancy round seat selection process from September 9 for all eligible candidates seeking admission to medical, dental, Indian system of medicine & homoeopathy, engineering, technology and architecture courses. The seat selection process will be subject to the result of the writ appeals pending before the Division Bench of the Karnataka High Court, a release from the CET cell said. For special categories, the casual vacancy round for medical, dental and ISM seats will be held from 3 p.m. on September 9. The process will start with physically disabled candidates, followed by seat selection by NCC candidates (4 p.m. onwards) and sports candidates (5 p.m. onwards). For reserved categories (SCG, SCR, SCK, STG, STR, STK, 1G, 1R, 1K, 2AG, 2AR, 2AK, 2BG, 2BR, 2BK, 3AG, 3AK, 3BG, 3BR, 3BK, GMR, GMK and other special categories, the medical, dental and ISM seats will be allotted according to the following schedule: September 10: Rank 1 to 7,000 (forenoon session 1: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.); 7,001 to 14,000 (forenoon session 2: 11.15 a.m. to 1.15 p.m.); 14,001 to 18,000 (afternoon session 1: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.); 18,001 to 20,000 (afternoon session 2: 4.15 p.m. to 6.15 p.m.). September 11: Rank 20,001 to 27,000 (FS-1); 27,001 to 34,000 (FS-2); 34,001 to Last Rank (AS-1). For candidates belonging to general merit (GM) and other reserved categories, the schedule is as follows: September 12: 1 to 2,000 (FS-1); 2,001 to 4,000 (FS-2); 4,001 to 7,000 (AS-1); 7,001 to 10,000 (AS-2). September 13: 10,001 to 14,000 (FS-1); 14,001 to 18,000 (FS-2); 18,001 to 22,000 (AS-1); 22,001 to 25,000 (AS-2). September 14: 25,001 to 30,000 (FS-1); 30,001 to 35,000 (FS-2); 35,001 to 38,000 (AS-1); 38,001 to Last Rank (AS-2).
Engineering seats
For engineering and technology seats, the casual vacancy round will be held on September 16 for special categories, from September 17 to 24 for reserved categories and from September 26 to October 17 for general Merit and all other reserved categories. The seat selection for architecture courses will be held on October 18 with the following schedule: For Reserved Category candidates: Rank 1 to 2,000 (FS-1); 2,001 to Last Rank (FS-2); For GM and all other reserved candidates: Rank 1 to 2,000 (AS-1); 2,001 to Last Rank (AS-2).
Eligibility
The casual vacancy round will be open to medical rank holders who have already selected / not selected medical, dental and ISM seats and also those who have reported / not reported to the allotted colleges besides those who have not selected any seats so far. However, candidates who select the seats in the CV round will not be eligible to participate in the seat selection process for engineering and technology seats. All engineering rank holders will be allowed to participate in the casual vacancy round for engineering and technology seats. But once they select a seat here, they will not be allowed for the architecture seat selection process. Candidates who have not selected any seat will have to invariably produce original documents and the prescribed fee in the form of demand draft, when they come. Fee paid by candidates in the admission round will be adjusted towards the seat selected during the casual round.
