KOCHI: The restrictions imposed on entry of trucks to the city by the traffic police have been relaxed owing to construction works going on at different parts of the city and requests from merchants. Entry of trucks to city limits was banned between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. But this has now been relaxed to allow trucks to enter the city limits between 11.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. from Tuesday onwards. The ban will continue between 8 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. and between 3.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Also, trucks will not be allowed to approach the city from Kaloor, Thevara UP Bridge, Thevara, Vathuruthy, Goshree Bridges and from Elamakkara to Kaloor during peak hours. Both the Assistant Commissioners of Police (Traffic East and West) have been asked to initiate strict action against violators, said P. Vijayan, City Police Commissioner.
