HYDERABAD:
Officials of the law, police and forensic science wings will interact here on September 9 and 10 on ways of improving their functioning with a view to doing justice to the common man.
They will be participating in the second annual conference of South India Medicolegal Association (SIMLA-05) organised by the departments of Forensic Medicine of Osmania and Gandhi Medical Colleges.
The venue of the conference, with the theme "Importance of medical evidence in criminal justice system," will be Gandhi Medical College, Ravinder Reddy, chairman, Hari Krishna, convener, and G. Surendar Reddy, organising secretary, told a press conference here on Tuesday.
They said forensic medicine helped the police in crime investigation of bodily offences where medical opinion in post-mortem examination and certification of injury and age, sexual offences would be of immense help.
Some 250 delegates from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry besides Goa were expected to attend the conference.
