GUNTUR: Groupism is plaguing the Congress in Repalle. It has become a headache for the district leadersas a solution seems elusive at the district level. The Repalle MLA, Deveneni Mallikarjuna Rao, had prepared a list of 28 candidates, for the municipal elections and submitted the same to the District Congress Committee president, Muppalaneni Seshagiri Rao, on Monday night. After a few minutes, the DCC chief received another list consisting of 26 names, from the APIIC Chairman, Ambati Rambabu. When Mr. Seshagiri Rao questioned the two for submitting two lists from the same municipality, each one said that they would `talk to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy' and left. The matter was referred to the Pradesh Congress Committee president, K. Kesava Rao, who was reportedly unhappy with the turn of events in the district. First it was the issue of promoting the wards of the existing Congress leaders and now the two lists have made him angry, said a Congress worker at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in Guntur.
