EC to examine Pawar remarks

PATNA: Union Agriculture Minister and Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar is in the midst of a controversy over his purported statements regarding the revival of sugar mills in the State in seeming violation of the model code of conduct currently in effect for the Assembly elections.

Chief Election Commissioner B.B. Tandon said he would look into the matter once he received a complaint regarding announcements that Mr. Pawar made at a meeting in Motipur in Muzaffarpur district on Thursday.
