Task force for urban cooperative banks set up

BANGALORE: The task force to upgrade human resources and technological infrastructure of urban cooperative banks has been constituted. This is in accordance with a memorandum of understanding signed on Monday between the State Government and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

RBI Regional Director Devaki Muthukrishnan is the chairperson of the task force and Registrar of Cooperative Societies K.H. Gopalakrishne Gowda is the co-chairperson.

The other members of the task force are a nominee of the State Government; K.R. Ananda, Chief General Manager, RBI, Bangalore; Manohar Maski, representing the National Federation of Urban Banks and M. Shantharam, representing the State Urban Cooperative Banks' Federation.

As part of its developmental role, the RBI will assess the training and computerisation needs of urban cooperative banks with the objective of upgrading their human resources skills and technological infrastructure.
