VIZIANAGARAM: The Telugu Desam Party, district unit has promised transparency, selfless service, accountability to people and also a code of conduct for councillors and chairperson for effective functioning. The TDP politburo member P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju released the party manifesto for Vizianagaram municipality on Thursday and distributed B-forms to the contesting candidates. Strict implementation of citizens charter besides meeting drinking water need topped the party's priority.
Water problem
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the local ruling party leadership lacked planning in road widening work as a result people as well as traders were put to hardship. The drinking water problem increased in spite of good rainfall in catchment areas of Gosthani and Champavati rivers, he said and added that the present situation was not experienced even during drought condition in the past. He expressed surprise over K. Veerabhadra Swamy, local Independent MLA's reported decision to allow his 38 candidates to contest as Bhujan Samaj Party (BSP) nominees for the sake of common symbol.
