Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and active over Kerala.

Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Lakhshadweep, at many places over Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka and at a few places over interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu.

The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in centimetres:-

Srisailam (Kurnool dt.) 20, Bapatla 9, Kozhikode Airport 8 and Kaleswaram (Karimnagar dt.), Eturanagaram (Warangal dt.), Gannavaram, Thrithala (Palakkad dt.) and Amindivi 7 each.

Forecast (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Lakshadweep, coastal and north interior Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and coastal Karnataka during the next 48 hours.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Forecast (valid until Saturday morning): Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
