Itihasa Academy conference at Sedam on September 11

BANGALORE:
The Karnataka Itihasa Academy will hold its 19th annual conference at Sedam in Gulbarga district on September 11, academy president Suryanath U. Kamath said here on Thursday.
He told presspersons that over 250 research scholars and historians will participate in the three-day conference.
B.V. Shiroor, retired professor of Karnataka University, has been elected as the chairman of the conference, he said. Head of the Department of Legal Studies of Gulbarga University J.S. Patil will release the academy's annual publication, "Itihasa Darshana" on the occasion.
Photo exhibition
The Bharatiya Puratatva Anveshana's Dharwad division will hold a photo exhibition on the historical monuments of Hyderabad-Karnataka and measures initiated to protect them.
Former Union Minister Basavanagouda Patil Yatnal will present the B.R. Gopal Award to inscription expert K.R. Ganesh.
