SANGAREDDY: Unable to face mounting pressure from friendly parties and different sections of people, the Congress party is resorting to physical attacks on political opponents through killer gangs, TRS leader and Union Minister A. Narendra alleged here on Thursday. He told reporters that Congress workers had tried to enter the MLA quarters at Baheerbagh with an intention of harming him. He said that Congress had a history of terrorising opponents inside the party and also press persons in Gandhi Bhavan. He alleged that the Narsa Cobras, Kakatiya Cobras and Priyanka-Rahul brigade were all gangs maintained by the Congress Government.
Never close to TDP
Refuting the allegation by the PCC chief, K. Kesava Rao, that he was towing the line of the TDP, Mr. Narendra said that he had been a TDP biter all through his political career. "Similarly I have no liking for Mrs. Indira Gandhi either," he said. Earlier, the Medak Telugu Yuvata former president, P. Manohar, and former TDP councillor M. Sudhakar, along with over a hundred party workers, joined the TRS in the presence of Mr. Narendra. Hyderabad Special Correspondent adds: Speaking to reporters at Hyderabad, Mr. Narendra asserted that he was not cowed down by the threats held out by the Congress party to physically target him following his tirade against them. He said he was ready to accept the challenge thrown by the Congress to resign his Parliament seat and contest again. He challenged the Minister for Information and Public Relations, Md. Ali Shabbir, to face him in an open debate or a public meeting.
