Two men robbed of cash, gold chains

BANGALORE: Armed men stabbed two persons and robbed them of cash and gold chains in as many incidents reported from Seshadripuram and Shivajinagar police station limits on Wednesday.

The police said that around 7.45 p.m. four men waylaid Dinesh alias Rakesh, a taxi driver, on Lakshmanapuri Cross in Seshadripuram police station limits. They hit him on the head with a chopper and then stabbed him on the back. They relieved him of a gold chain and cash, the police said.

An injured Dinesh telephoned his friend, Ravi, and informed him of the attack. Ravi rushed to the spot and admitted Dinesh in the K.C. General Hospital. Dinesh, who works with a travel agency in Manjunathnagar, was returning home from a cinema in the Majestic area, the police said. The Seshadripuram police have registered a case.

In the other incident, around 7.30 p.m. three men waylaid Paramasiva Jothi, a railway employee, near the Railway Quarters, off Thimmaiah Road Cross. They stabbed Jothi with a knife and robbed him of Rs. 1,200 in cash and a gold chain, the police said. Jothi was walking towards his house from the Cantonment Railway Station. Chain snatched

Two youths riding a motorcycle snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 24,000 from Anitha in Madivala police station limits on Wednesday.

The police said the incident occurred around 3 p.m. when Anitha was walking home from a shop in Sector 7, HSR Layout. The Madivala police have registered a case.

Burglary

Thieves broke into a house in Byatarayanapura police station limits on Wednesday and made away with gold ornaments worth Rs. 1 lakh and cash.

The police said the thieves entered Rajkumar's house in BEML Layout in Rajarajeshwarinagar by cutting open the window grills. The burglary took place between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. when Rajkumar's family had been to the Hogenekkal Falls, the police said.
