Godhra riots: 31 arrested

VADODARA: Police have arrested 31 people, including members of some political parties, for their alleged involvement in four post-Godhra riot cases registered in March 2002.

Police made the arrests on Wednesday after the cases were re-opened on the recommendation of a special police cell set up on the direction of the Supreme Court last year.

The accused were rounded up on charges of rioting and looting reported in Kadval, Jhari, Bhikhapura and Ghagharpura areas of the tribal-dominated Pav-Jetpur taluka. — UNI
